DONATING TO THE MCGILL SKI TEAM

One of the aims of the VULTURE CLASSIC is to raise funds for the McGill Ski Team. Of course, I'll be passing a hat around on tournament day both at the tournament, and at the bar. (Although I don't know if I can promise that donations at the bar will make it to the current members of the McGill Ski Team...) 

If you can't make either event on September 20th, as you probably know, the Ski Team is still a funded only by whatever the team can raise at the Annual Ski Sale and donations from Ski Team Alumni - in other words us.  I don't know about you, but the last time I checked, skiing wasn't getting any cheaper, and obviously any donations will be greatly appreciated.  2001 was a record year for the classic, raising about $300 for the team. It was matched in 2002, and it was smashed in 2003 with over $500 raised for the team.

One easy way to donate is to send a cheque to the organizer of the VC.  This year the organizer of the Eastern Vulture Classic (near Toronto) is Carl Seider. You can send him a cheque (payable to Carl Seider) and he will look after the rest.  I promise, we won't buy beer with the money, or at least not much beer.  You can send it to me at the following address:

The benefit of this method is that we can track how much the CLASSIC has raised for the team, AND the tax benefit will be used to start next year's donation.  The VC tournament 2001 donation gave rise to a $91.14 tax benefit that went into 2002’s pot. (Thanks to Mr. Andrew Edgell for the tax wizardry)  This means every year we raise money, we give more the next.
